OK, my sweet, couldn't resist your invitation to drop by and see how 'love' (one of my favorite categories in life) was unfolding. To answer your questions:
1. Bach I love
2. Red, depends on the circumstances. It's a strong color and looks wonderful on certain women.
3. Zingers: Know what they are but have never had one. Don't think I want to.
4. Walt Disney World: Never been but if I was in Florida I'd possibly go.
5. Penguins: Who doesn't love penguins?
6. Hillary: I just don't trust her; she plays dirty. But, since I don't live in the US it's irrelevant.
7.Karaoke: When I was drunk I thought I had the best voice in the world. But, since I quit drinking I find it loathsome.
8. The Reuben Sandwich is the 'god' of sandwiches, but only if well made in a Jewish deli.
9. Godzilla: I always found Godzilla pretty lame at the scare level.
10. Cats: I quite like them (dogs are better), and I have one I'm very fond of, but am also slightly allergic.
There. How did I do? Do I get a prize?
I need a little love right now, so I'm going to join in. It will do me good to think of things I love.
1. Bach--don't know enough to have an opinion. Do love Mozart, though.
2. Red--love red, but if I see another red dining room on a home makeover show I'm gonna puke. (even though I did put a little red in my dining room--I bow to peer pressure)
3. Zingers--Haven't had them, but Ilike anything with icing and/or a cream filling.
4. Disney World--love it in the off season so I don't have to stand in long lines.
5. Penguins--love 'em if I don't have to smell them.
6. Hillary--I haven't decided yet.
7. Karaoke--indifferent. I'm too shy to get up myself.
8. Reubens--love 'em
9. Godzilla--love it
10. Cats--love 'em but I have family members who are allergic, so I don't have one.
things I love:
My hubby and my dog
My friends and family
Knitting
Traveling
Reading
Being in Scotland
Hiking
Fall

4. Walt Disney World: Never been.
5. Penguins:
6. Hillary Clinton: Let's not discuss it.

9. godzilla - love in a campy sorta way
10. cats - used to love, love dogs more
11. your blog - love reading it
1. Bach - love. Brandenberg concertos one of the greatest pieces ever. I play a few bits of his on the guitar - although clearly that's a touch daft as the modern classical guitar post dates his writing but so what.
2. Red - Hmm - indifferent. I wouldn't chose it myself for clothes etc. However I've had more than one red car - my current one is red so...
3. Zingers - I have no idea and given the diet probably glad I have enough trouble controlling muffins, bagels, chocolate and biscuits
4. Went to Florida on a conference - wasn't impressed. Never taken the kids. Am I a bad father in this age because of that?
5. Love penguins... actually in the Uk there is a chocolate biscuit called a penguin... see 3 above :-)
6. I have a healthy disrespect for all policitians. Just never trust any of them
7. Karaoke - oh God - HATE HATE HATE
8. Don't believe I've had one
9. Godzilla - rubbish but harmless rubbish so bearable
10. Cats - No keen, mostly as they seem to not like me. My Mother-in-laws one just hisses and spits at me. I've never done anything to her - I call it "the devil cat"
And I love
1. Recovery from Alcoholism - every day free from booze is a marvellous bonus for me.
2. Freedom - I don't live somewhere where I have to worry about what I do or say to a large degree - we take that for granted too much
3. Being healthy - as much as I am and that I live in a country where I can get good healthcare. Just look at Africa and tell me you should moan about our health service.
4. Music - just it is me. Listening to music allows me to connect with something inside me that only music reaches.
5. Guitars - esp my old classical my Mum bought me when I was 14. And the Squier Strat I've had over 20 years and the one my wife got me for my 40th... and the Gibson Les Paul Custom I'd always wanted.... (I love guitars :-))
6. My kids. Their ambitions, their talents, their skills, thier fun and laughter and hey wow like that is all because of me doing something somewhere...
7. My wife - I might struggle with our relationship at times but I know that when I've been in really bad spaces (NYC on 9/11 and in rehab) the only person I really wanted to be there who couldn't was her.
8. Glass - fasinated by it always have been since a kid. It's such an amazing form to work in as you are working a lot on guesswork as to how it'll look in the end.
9. Models - again since a kid I've loved models - I have a big model railway layout in the loft that I should to more on.
10. Language - without it I couldn't communicate with you or you to me and I couldn't read all the stuff on the internet or in books and go ... wow! as often as I do.

10. Cats--Love them
Charlie, sunny days, the beauty and power of the human smile, PBS, honesty, hummingbirds and sunflowers are a few of my favorite things.
All of the above...
Love the new graphic with the lady and her naked brain. HOT!!
Phase two of my economic program is now in effect...
Bach, Bach, Bach - all the way, followed by Vivaldi and then anything Baroque (especially recorder music)
Red? I'm Yellow these days.
Godzilla, naw. A long time ago yes. But, I truly love the Cloverfield monster.
Cats, yes yes yes. Though we are currently in puppy mode around the house.
That's not ten. But I'm indifferent on the others. Fun questions.
I'm a classically trained musician and Bach is my all time favorite.
I love the color red.
I loved Zingers as a kid but I'm not so sure about it now.
I loved Disney World until A few years ago, having gone so much with the kids I never want to see it again!
I hate Hillary. Sorry.
I loathe karaoke.
Love the corned beef but hate the cabbage in a Reuben.
I don't like Godzilla.
I like cats but am allergic to them.
Bach- good
Red - only if it's a deep blueish red, otherwise it's just weak. something so equalizing about the color we all bleed.
Zingers- don't know em. But I have great Dolly Madison memories.
Disney- i usually have a visceral reaction against them, but they're with Pixar now, who absolutely rock, and I have to say, Disney has found a way to appeal to everyone in almost every way. Impressive

hiyah diane and joshua!
Merely Me:
I just posted this at my blog in response to your question there on Hillary but I wanted to post it here as well.
Merely Me:
Well, of course the following statements are just my opinions that I've formed by following this primary process from day one. I'm a political junkie. It and religion are like my two favorite subjects which are of course the two subjects that you're supposed to avoid in conversation. D'oh!!
That being said, I just don't know what to believe with her anymore. She really seems to "play the game." I get the impression that she will do or say anything to get elected. She doesn't strike me as genuine.
She just seems like another calculating politician. She comes across as very arrogant, cold and disingenuous. Also, she gives too much attention to lobbyists and I don't like how dirty she's playing in the campaign.
I guess the biggest reason that I like Obama is that he symbolizes real change. I feel that he offers hope that a new paradigm in politics is possible.
I want to turn the page to a new day, one without the same old players (Bush/Clinton). We need news faces, new ideas and a new direction that will lead us into this new century. Barack Obama makes me feel hopeful about my future for the first time in a long time.
I like how inclusive Obama is and it gives me hope that he would be able to bring this fractured country better together than Hillary. She is so divisive with her baggage from the past. I don't want to re-fight the wars of the 90's. And I just think that the Republicans and more importantly the vast, independent middle of the country would be willing to give Obama a chance.
But with Hillary there will be distrust, divisions and gridlock from the beginning. The Republicans won't let her get anything done.
Obama's ability to bring people together gives me the impression that he would be better able to talk to world leaders and get them to work together. He is very persuasive but not abrasive and as pushy as Hillary comes across.
I don't think you have this impression but I want you to know that I don't disrespect or think of you any less because you support Hillary. We have so much in common that I'd hate for politics to come between us.
At the end of the day, we are both very good people who both just want the best for each other and the country.
1. I love Bach.
2. Red is my favorite color.
3. I hate Zingers.
4. I liked it when I was a kid now I'm neutral I guess.
5. Penguins are my favorite creatures to see at the Zoo.
6. Still not quite sure what to make of Hillary.
7. I hate karaoke.
8. I hate Ruben sandwiches.
9. I am indifferent about Godzilla.
10. I love cats but am highly allergic to them.
ack!
just wrote a long comment on my own blog and it wouldn't take!
maddening.
james...so glad you commented here. and no politics will never divide us. not to worry. i am very appreciative of your viewpoints.
actually i have to agree with so much of what you are saying.
i would honestly love hillary to be the dem candidate but...realistically she is so polarizing...so many people hate her that your point about bringing things to a stand still could very well be right. i don't think the country is ready for hillary unfortunately.
obama is fresh but another word for this is inexperienced. will his actions be congruent with his words? we don't know yet.
dirk...don't hate me but...i would be more than willing to give obama a chance.
we definitely need a change in this country and...i am gonna stand behind the candidate who can make that possible. if it turns out to be obama...he is not a bad choice by any means.
1. There is a piano adagio after Moonlight Sonata on a CD I can't find right now that is a forever favorite.
2. Dark red velvet
3. I can't think about food right now.
4. Disney Never been don't know, but never felt urge to go.
5. Penguins Yes! I saw them at the South of the Cape in South Africa on the way back from a conference. Utterly disabled in all ways on land till they fall over into the water and then schazam super creature hummingbird lightening speed coordination totally amazing. They bite though. They needed volunteers to help clean them off with toothbrushes after an oil spill. The person I was traveling with didn't to, but I kinda wanted to come home with a penguin bite.
6. In one easy-applause sentence beginning with a loud absolutely sure of herself, "I guarantee you that...." that she had no experience or authority to speak on the way she did about something that hit close to home pissed me off so bad, it's a lot of work, to be understated about it, not to be totally suade away from Hillary Clinton. But I'm working very hard on it on it. Trying to hear everything.
7. Never been around karaoke, and would probably hate - except with Tati in which case...you'd just have to be there.
8. Ever had a Muffaletta?
9. Never saw Godzilla.
10. Cats?-plural? I'm very particular, a little catty.
