Music sounds good but I am not familiar with this song or the group. I must be out of touch since I am still stuck at 60's and 70's and early 80's. LOL
alice in chains intended to be a heavy metal group but they arrived on the grunge scene in seattle the same time as stone temple pilots, nirvana, and pearl jam. the timing of their entrance into the music world and their dark lyrics enabled them to be categorized as a grunge band but really i would say they are an interesting hybrid of rock, heavy metal and grunge.
the guitar in this is phenomenal...as are the vocals. it is just one of those songs when you hear it...you instantly recognize it within a few seconds.
Although, I love rock, Alice in chains was never my favorite. Growing up when I was trying to "Find myself" I listened to AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Then as I got older I turned to Journey and Van Halen (David Lee Roth), and then as I got a little older DISCO! Then R&B like Boyz II Men...today I am very versatile with my music. I Love all music and have an array of different CD's.
Music is my therapy of choice, I listen to it all the time and depending on my mood, I could listen to anything..it just depends how I feel.
I would never had thought of this song as a classic or "Alice in Chains" as a band old enough to be a classic. Holy f%$kin sh&t bat man 1991. Where the hell did the 17 years go??????
yeah that is what i would like to know too slip. hey you are the dude who lives on a farm right? i gotta go visit your site soon.
i think there is tons and tons of music nobody ever listened to because it wasn't on the radio. not that alice in chains wasn't on the radio...but you know what i mean.
Oh dear, in 1991 I was still listening to U2 (Joshua Tree), Sting (The Soul Cages and Nothing Like the Sun), classic Police (esp Synchronicity!), Paul Simon (Rhythm of the Saints), and copious amounts of Brahms, Mozart, Strauss, Mahler, Bach and Prokofiev.
You have good taste in music. AIC is one of the most unique (in a good way of course) bands from the '90's.
All of their albums are excellent. I even have a limited edition of one of their albums with fake, plastic flies in the clear, hollow plastic bind of the cd.

One of my fave songs is by Alice In Chains. It's called "Them Bones". I love it...

Grunge was not on my radar screen.
