I'm a happy girl this evening...I bought me some new music...the new White Stripes...Icky Thump. How do they do it? For only two people they sure know how to make some noise.
Here is a taste
Next on my list...Radiohead's In Rainbows. Has anyone heard all of it yet?
Again here is another taste... their song "videotape"...music and lyrics. my god it is haunting.
When I'm at the pearly gates
This'll be on my videotape
My videotape
My videotape
When Mephistopheles is just beneath
And he's reaching up to grab me
This is one for the good days
And I have it all here
In red blue green
In red blue green
You are my center when I spin away
Out of control on videotape
On videotape(x6)
This is my way of saying goodbye
Because I can't do it face to face
So I'm talking to you before it's too late
No matter what happens now
I shouldn't be afraid
Because I know today has been the most perfect day I've ever seen.
What is on your must have music list?

I need to find some good reggae. I'm hoping to find a CD from Cas, the guy on America's got talent, no luck so far.
I'm pretty much an oldies guy but I must admit, I love Flogging Molly during football season; no idea why.
you got some good sounds, their videos ar cool too
Hey Merelyme, hope your having a Happy New Year! I like the White Stripes but I haven't heard much of their recent stuff, or Radiohead for that matter. I have to check some of this stuff out.
grew up on jazz/blues, so remains my fave genre... but am mostly eclectic these days ;) lol
Music is time travel - it can take you back to a school dance, a first kiss, a point when your heart was trashed - music creates mood and music for me is essential when I am writing a book. I go for film soundtracks when working, classic ska when I feel like a shimmer while cooking and good old indie rock (I'd class the WS and radiohead in that category) for when trudging the streets.
You have good taste in music. I am bonkers for Radiohead. Saw them here in Colorado a few years back at the famous Red Rocks amphitheater. It was probably the best concert that I've seen so far and I've seen a lot.
Haven't purchased the new one yet but will. O.k. Computer and Amnesiac are my two favorite albums.
Oh and I love Thom Yorke. I think he and I would have a lot in common and I love how he doesn't comb his hair nor care too much about his appearance. He's a true artist, fully committed to his art. As a fellow artist I really relate to that level of dedication--he lives, breaths and suffers with his art.

I keep commenting but I told ya I'm bonkers for Radhiohead.
That lyric above is just, WOW. So powerful and liberating.
I could talk music for hours.
I'm a child of the 80's so that is always on my must have list. It's like comfort food...only for the ears.
Hey!
I put you on my blogroll a couple of days ago, and then your profile and your link disappeared from Blogger. Strange.
I'm glad you're "visible" again. Will add you to the list again.
Merely, if you like the White Stripes you might want to check out the Arctic Monkeys. I think you'd like them.
I just got the Led Zepp compilation "Mothership" for my birthday as well as the soundtrack to The Grateful Dead Movie.
And a DVD of Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 and two CD's by Tommy Castro.
Whew, I'm gonna be exhausted listening to all this.
Currently my most listened to list includes ...
Les Zep, Steve Via, Biffy Clyro, HIM, Logan, Marillion, David Gray
Not a big fan of Radiohead I'm afraid. I don't get it for some reason
Yep, I'd second a vote to listen to some Arctic Monkeys.
