I don't think I can name five of them but one of my favorites is "While You Were Sleeping". I love that movie! Very romantic I think but in a comedic sort of way.

Well I see a couple folks have already picked some of mine.

When Harry Met Sally
Ghost
While You Were Sleeping
The Notebook
On Golden Pond

for the irony of it...
You've Got Mail

and not a typical romance, but...
Roadhouse (Patrick Swayze as a bar bouncer - hot!)

Definitely the one that photo is from: Casablanca. Rick loves Ilsa so much that he lets her go with Victor because Victor is the real love of her life. A great story with drama, comedy, guns, music, a foggy night, 5 or 6 huge plot twists in the last five minutes and all of those memorable lines:
“Kiss me. Kiss me as if it were the last time.”
“We'll always have Paris. We didn't have, we, we lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.”
“No one ever loved me that much.”
“Here's looking at you, kid”
And of course the song: You must remember this / A kiss is still a kiss / A sigh is just a sigh / The fundamental things apply / As time goes by.

Oh I forgot The Notebook. Yeah that was a beautiful one. On the aching and longing side of romance I love Atonement.

That movie with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Title escapes me..... Was it Somewhere in Time?

Cyrano Debergerac - the Black and white one with Hose Ferrar - it is of unrequited love, nobleness of spirit and conduct.

Inspiring.

Also, was it "For whom the bell tolls" with Ingmar Bergman and that American actor who played in a lot of Westerns. He manned the machine gun post to let her escape.

Again, selfless...
