Feeling like Schleprock

Who remembers Schleprock?

"wowsy wowsy woo woo" I think he was known to say.

I feel like him today. It has been one of those rain all day kinda bleak days. And I have been having MS symptoms all day. I am weary.

Does anybody have anything cheery or fun to impart to me? A joke? A song? An inspiration? I could use it right about now.

Just one of those days I guess.

On another note....

I have written a very serious post about the topic of self harm or cutting. There are so many people who engage in self mutilation as a way to cope with personal trauma. This was one of the most difficult pieces I have written yet as I have some personal experience here. I wrote it because there have been so many young women writing about wanting to stop cutting on the site and I felt I could possibly help through this article. This is why I write.

I would be most honored if you could come to read my post on self injury here.

One of the best blogs out there about brain disorders and diseases is that of Doctor Nitin Sethi, a neurologist based in New York City. Doctor Sethi is nothing short of amazing. He is committed to giving back to the community and was most gracious to grant me the honor of an interview for Multiple Sclerosis Health Central. In addition, Doctor Sethi is willing to answer questions about MS on the site. On Wednesday I will be gathering questions for the doctor to answer so if you have such a question just shoot me an email.

Doctor Sethi talks about diagnosis, treatment, and why it takes so dang long to get to see the neurologist. You may read this very informative and enlightening interview right here.

Many months ago I wrote a post about cutting as my niece was discovered to be doing this. Very traumatic for our family, for sure.

I've read both of your latest posts on Health Central and find myself in awe of your courage and the exceptional writing which is common for you.
Both articles made the subjects more clear to me, It would take a good number of doctor's visits and money to get the information in the MS interview; that's quite a doctor!
There's a reason to tell people personal experiences, to help them through theirs, I believe you will help someone through your article on the practice of cutting and the reasons for it.

I have never heard of this Schleprock. Is he a Hermit?

Cutting and self-injury is often an aspect of borderline personality disorder which can tie in with varioius afflictions. I was close to somebody once who had BPD and it was a bit unnerving.

Noodles!

That word always makes me laugh. It's my favorite silly word.

I hope that helps!

What a bad blogger I have been! Life has gotten in the way of my computer.May the New Year find you peace.

Here is a joke for you!

Maria is a very protected Italian girl that was born with a heart problem. Her Mamma and Pappa doted on her and kept the world at bay.
Maria grew in to a stunning young woman, and as luck would have it, fell on love with Tony. In her joy she took Tony home to meet her parents.Later that evening after Tony leaves her Pappa says to Maria, "You gotta tell Tony about your heart condition, itsa not right that a young man falls in love and then you die." "I know Pappa," she says.

Time go on and Pappa keeps asking Maria if she told Tony yet. "No Pappa I am afraid he will leave me." Tony stops at the house and Pappa takes him off to the side.

He says, "Tony, Ima gonna tell you somethin. My Maria she has acute angina." Tony says " I know Pappa, nice tits too!"

Are you smiling?

Low Rider...

A couple is on their bed, making love missionary style, when their four-year-old son walks in and asks: Daddy, can I ride on your shoulders?

Dad says: No, mom and i need to be alone right now.

Mom tells hubby: It's OK honey, he doesn't know what's going on.

So Dad agrees to let the little guy ride on his shoulders.

As they get into the throes of passion, the wife starts to moan, thrash around, and her breathing becomes heavy.

At this, the little boy says: Daddy, you better hold on tight... yesterday when she did that, me and the milkman almost ended up on the floor!

I've never tried the cutting and don't think that would be of interest. It's hard enough to cut meat!

Can you please ask Dr, Sethi, why doctors seem less concerned about the psychological, emotional, and cognitive effects of MS, compared to the physical symptoms? Depression being the exception.
Thanks
