Here is yet another reason to NOT vote for McCain...as if we need more reasons. This one involves musical tastes.
According to the October issue of Psychology Today, one of McCain's favorite groups is the Swedish disco band from the 70's, ABBA. That's right. And if elected "McCain says he'll make ABBA ring forth from every elevator in the White House."
Sounds like torture to me.
What music does Obama like? The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springston, Charlie Parker. Sheryl Crow, Yo-Yo Ma, and Jay-Z. Eclectic, diverse, and interesting!
Opinionated am I? Yes.
ABBA? Seriously? I can see McCain singing Take a Chance on me...
"If you change your mind, I'm the first in line
Honey I'm still free
Take a chance on me..."
OH HELL NO!

Hey you!
What's wrong with Abba? I've got their Greatest Hits CD hanging out somewhere in my, many disc holding, CD player.
What Obama like most, is himself. But then, I don't like McCain either. I was kinda hoping you'd run. Straighten out where the money goes in this country. You, I trust. Them, I don't.
Angel Eyes is a fine song. But doesn't work for those two.
Yo-Yo Ma, Charlie Parker, cool stuffs
But maybe, just maybe, he thinks this is highly entertaining... in a laugh AT you kinda way??? Sorta "ain't it sad, that's too bad" kinda way.
I work all night, I work all day, to pay the bills I have to pay
Ain't it sad
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me
That's too bad
In my dreams I have a plan
If I got me a wealthy man
I wouldn't have to work at all, I'd fool around and have a ball...
Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the rich man's world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man's world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It's a rich man's world
Does this mean that if he's elected, we'll have to watch him dance to ABBA at the inaugural balls? Yes, another reason to not vote for him!
He thinks he's showing The Young People he's a hep cat too.
After all, the man dates back to the days of the Penny Nickelodeon!
As the people on American Bandstand would have said, ABBA has a good beat and it's easy to dance to. ABBA wrote some catchy tunes and if the lyrics were insipid, so were those of most pop tunes. If he had said, say, Looking Glass, it would be another matter. Can you imagine having to listen to "Brandy, You're a Fine Girl" over and over? It probably would count as torture under the Geneva Convention. Ditto for Tony Orlando and Dawn. But ABBA--not so terrible.
I guess McCain's ideas for government (hey, I'm an Amtrak employee--one of the first things a President McCain would try to do is eliminate most passenger trains) scare me a lot more than his taste in music.
oh NO! :P lol
Know what's funny? My mom LOVES "Mamma Mia" and all the music. She's telling me I hafta go see it. She also saw ABBA last summer near us. Yikes. Same age group I suppose.
Hey, even I like ABBA...
Like I said in my first comment, Abba good, video bad:
(Hope this works)
Watch them
Crikey, I was laughing. Until I realized I'd have Abba stuck in my head all day!
Geez, I have the greatest hits somewhere in my collection. In my defense, Kurt Cobain was a big fan of ABBA,
I agree with you on this one. Didn't McCain say he was AGAINST torture? hmmm.
Thanks for stopping by the Titan. Ya got a good head on your shoulders, girl.
My late father liked ABBA and he was a life long Democrat.
My family (including my son) are life long Democrats.
I am a Republican.
I will also admit to voting for Clinton.
Twice.
I think Obama's ideas for government scares me.
Oh hell no!
Ummm...my hubby likes Abba! :)
Ugh, ABBA is annoying and so is McCain so they deserve each other. GO OBAMA!!!
And when he chose Missy Sarah as his running mate, I'm sure he was humming, "You are my dancin' queen...young and sweet only blah blah blah!"
