Question for the day

What is your favorite and least favorite fast food restaurants?

I have a fondness for Arbys. Used to go there as a kid and the particular one I went to was in the shape of a hat. Or am I hallucinating this memory? And I love the special arby's sauce.

My most hated fast food restaurant has to be Burger King. I once went on a greyhound bus from Pittsburgh to Santa Barbara California. It was a three day ride...on a bus. And for the most part it was Burger King all the way. Did I mention it was for three days? Ever since that trip when I was a teenager I vowed never to eat Burger King again. I have been successful in my
avoidance of the king.

Lotsa links coming your way next week.

But in the meantime...
Doctor Nitin Sethi, neurologist and blogger extraordinare has written a post for me for MS Health Central about a topic which affects most people who have Multiple Sclerosis. This community discussion is about whether one should take the MS disease modifying drugs or not. What are your thoughts? Come and join this discussion here.

Thank you Doctor Sethi!
And just wanted to thank all the people who have contributed interviews, quotes, and even articles for the on-line communities I am leading. If I haven't caught up with you yet, know that I will soon. I am definitely going to be giving a shout out to my editors about some of you. :>)

3 days on a bus full of people eating Burger King food is not a picture I want in my head at bedtime!

Arby's is OK. That sauce is actually a mass produced version of a basic mid-south style barbecue sauce. As far as fast food goes, it's pretty good.

And I SO agree about BK. That has to be some of the most disgusting, stinkingest, slimiest, greasiest, saltiest, preservative-laden sh.. crap ever marketed as "food".

Plus, that plastic faced "king" character gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I like eating at Arby's, but for the most part, I consider it "high end" for my very tight dollar.

BK, well, you live and learn. Much like you have a dislike for BK, I have the same intense dislike for McDonalds (major case of food poisoning is what did to me).

For the most part, I like eating at Wendy's.

I'm not sure but I think at one time Arby's bought out Roy Rogers fast food places which may have been shaped like a hat. Even if it's not true, I like my explanation. More intriguing is why you took a Greyhound bus across the country, sound like a blog series there. I think Paul Simon sang a song you could about traveling on one.
When I used to go to them:
Favorite - Burger King
Least - McDonalds

Dr. Sethi is the best I've read in explaining matters in plain language.

Wendys is #1 and I agree Burger King is at the bottom.

I don't like Arby's or Wendy's. I like Taco Bell!

When I do the bus for long trips?
I pack a couple of loaves of raisin bread. That usually does the trick!
But, I reckon that wasn't the question, eh?

I have a love of cheap food.
If it isn't McDonald's McChicken (which I add just a bit of ranch dressing to) then it's Taco Bell's bean burrito.
Least favorite?
Anything that costs more'n a buck (tax not included) and that pretty much means the entire BK line.

I love the Atlanta Bread Company. Not sure that many would consider it fast food though since it has no drive-thru.

I used to enjoy Burger King, but something about their food recently has turned me off.

My favorites are Taco Bell, KFC, and Arby's. If Subway counts as fast food, then add them to the list.

My least favorite is McDonald's. I've never thought their food was very good, and the service is awful.

OK to prove the cross cultural reach of the internet- a broodje tempeh.
From a Surinam snack bar- Surinam is not a well known country and its food is an eclectic mixture of Indian, Chinese, Indonesian, African,South American and Dutch. If you are ever in Holland or Surinam check it out.

I love Arbys and Burger King and takeaway Chinese!

But I don't like McDonalds. They're an evil corporation.

I have to admit that I love regional fast food the best. White Castle up north (Krystals in the south), In-N-Out Burger in California, and What-A-Burger in Texas.

For boneless chicken, you can't beat Chick-Fil-A.

And for pizza, I'm craving both Johnny's from north Louisiana, and Papa Dels, from Champaign, Illinois.

I rarely go to FF restaurants, but once in a while I indulge myself, especially if on the road. Dairy Queen, while known for its frozen stuff, actually makes decent burgers. Certainly as good as anyone else's. I used to like KFC but find it has deteriorated.

To be honest we do little of that now - To hell with it I say, sit down and eat.

However we do use Subway for "snacks".

This week I was in London for a course, I found a great old style sandwich bar where everything was made to order, loads of choice, friendly staff etc. Loved it - they are little treasures in a sea of overwhelming corporate conformance aren't they.

Chains of restuarants we do use are... Nandos (Portugese Chicken, v popular in UK, good value and good for the wifes diet, chicken salad and frozen yogurt is few points), TGI Fridays and Amoy Chinese restaurant
