Did you already know this? It is true. Casey Kasem is Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Well his voice is anyway. Is he also Scooby's voice? I do not know.
I bought some new music last night. I have been trying to build my music collection to include some classics. I was gonna get The Clash...London Calling. Or some Sex Pistols. But instead I reached for something "better" as in Casey Kasem's twenty greatest hits from the 90's! LOL Pretty lame huh? I don't know what it is with me. I love those dopey CD's they market with hits from different eras. I also love soundtracks to movies and tv shows.
What is the last CD you have purchased?
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT...
Okay not so different but I needed a segway there.
I have some new posts for you to see on Health Central. Please do come by and comment if you can. I would be most appreciative!
You wouldn't think that opening doors for others would provide fodder for a debate but evidently it does! Chime in with your thoughts by commenting on my latest MS post entitled, Should you Hold the Door Open for Someone who has a Disability?
What do Autism, Aardvarks, and Prozac have to do with one another? Read my latest post on Health Central's Depression site to find out.

It is a brand new day...we have a new President. I am feeling downright jubilant!
I will be visiting all of you on your blogs very soon!

I rarely buy a complete CD anymore. I'll pick and choose on iTunes, Amazon, or somewhere else, getting the songs that I want. I was a sucker for CD's from decades, or moods, like Frat Party! :) Which contained nothing but hits. If I had to guess, the last full CD, was Ronstadt's first greatest hits CD, or Eva Cassidy's - Imagine.
I'm afraid I'm your, poor taste in music, commenter. :) Someone has to be.
I've read all of those stories. How people could miss reading even one of them, is beyond me!
I LOVE to collect CD's! Old ones and new ones, too! My most recent is "Jennifer Hudson" and the one before that was "Journey Classics" I believe.
My CD collection is so eclectic. I have so many genres in every area - yes, even DISCO!
I thought when you mentioned "classics" that you were refering to Sinatra, Martin, Crosby, Hank Sr., Cline, Elvis, or even The Beatles. Not that there's anything wrong with those you've named, but I don't automatically think of them as classics.
The last CD I bought was "Kill to Get Crimson" by Mark Knopfler. Great songwriting, and mature guitar playing. Plus, his voice is like aged whiskey - smooth and imperfect. I highly recommend it.
I've been burning my albums/45's to CD's for the past several months, so I rarely buy new CD's.
But the most recent were earlier in the summer, when I bought the Robert Plant/Alison Krause CD; Gavin DeGraw's latest and a live one by Ricky Skaggs.
Nice lonliness article.
The last CD I bought was Sugarland's new one. The next CD I'll buy is Nickelback's new one (out November 18th).
I will check out health central!
Oh. I guess Casey is cute and all, not that I'd know, but he's not quite up to the previous picture's standards.
No, no though candy is quite fetching, I was talking about the Good Fairy.
Lana told me about the Shaggy Kasem Casey connection. The last CD I bought was black rain by Ozzy
Hey you...I just bought the Kreesha Taylor's CD while I was in Canada. She hasn't hit it big here yet. Before that purchase it's been years. Great, thoughtful post. Thank you.
My recent cd is Medeski, Martin & Wood: Radiolarians 1. If one has never bought a MMW Jazz cd then they probably should start with their greatest hits instead. I have known of the Casey Kasem/Shaggy connection for years. Do I win anything? :)
The last C.D. I bought was, Imaginary Diseases, by Frank Zappa. it isnewly released material from the family vault and is an amazing collection of material of a concert tour.
I highly recommend it!
(Even if I wasn't highly, I'd still recommend it!)
WABBITS?
WABBITS?
WHERE'S THE WABBIT?
ohhhhh...
shhhhhhhh..
sawwy...
;)
I hold the door open for anyone and everyone when I get to the door first. It's polite.
I did know that Casey Kasem was the voice of Shaggy. He's done a bunch of other cartoon character voices in his career.
And I remember listening to the countdown every week on the radio.
I haven't bought a CD in a long time. But I can say that I hold the door for everybody!
Of course there IS a difference between being alone and feeling lonely. Some keep their own company quite well and I guess that I often fall into that category. But I often feel lonely too. I think that is often the result of be misanthrope...and not by choice, mind you. Its sort of a mixed bag complicated lot that I am:)
I stopped buying CD's when I learned how to burn my own! Yes, a "jubilant" feeling to have a new president. The days seem brighter!!
