Just wanted to say thanks for all your comments on my last post.
I am new to this whole going to the hospital thang. I have no clue when to speak up and when to just suck it up. As I gain some more experience with all of this I hope to be more assertive. It is so scary to place so much trust into folks who you have no idea what their skill level is in doing the procedures they are doing to you.
It is just so very helpful to hear of your experiences...I am such a newbie to all of this.
Let me tell you of my medical history. There is none! I have not so much as sprained an ankle. I have never broken any bones. I have never even been stung by a bee in my lifetime. I went for years in my college days not having any insurance and not seeing a doctor. I have never really needed to. And let me tell you...when I do go...I am a big chicken. I loathe hospitals and I am so not fond of doctors.
So yeah...I can use all the help I can get.
Thanks again for your words of support and your sharing of your experiences. It helps me a lot and no doubt helps anyone who reads this blog!
Okey dokey smokies...
more of this and that to come.
are you excited or what?

The support on here is great isnt it!!
And you can learn so much.
You need to learn to advocate for yourself because no one else does. Not to your own level anyways. The best thing I can tell you is if you have that gut feeling or uncomfortable with a situation speak up. There is a difference in the way yo do it. Doesn't mean you have to be rude just upfront. I worked in a hospital and the patients comfort is what comes first. It is hard to trust someone you don't even know to have your best interest. That is why it is ok to ask questions. If they get an attitude then they shouldn't be doing that work. One that doesn't get an attitude has your best interest.
This and that, mostly that.
;)
I don't like doctors or hospitals either. Those people are money grubbing pigs who steal the joy out of life. They don't seem as interested in actually curing people nowadays, they just want to "maintain" one's health so that they can keep that person in that revolving door.
Here's your daily doctor-dealing mantra:
"Pain is forbidden to own me
Pity will not get to know me
"And positivity can come down here and blow me."
