Please stop on by...

Hi guys!

I need to get with the program and keep up this blog!

Wanted to invite you all to a discussion I have begun on Health Central's MS site about Obama's proposed health care reform bill and...I want your opinions! You don't have to have MS to contribute. This is your chance to make your views heard as they may go all the way to Washington D.C.

Just follow this link!

We want to get as much discussion going as we can and try to steer things towards productive ideas or even solutions.

So come on over! Please!

We need to ensure that health care covers everyone and that no one can be discriminated against for pre-existing conditions. We also need a public option, an option that allows us to CHOOSE to join a government sponsored health care program. I don't understand people who side with the insurance companies and the corporations. If the situation was reversed, these businesses would hardly start to side with the plight of the individual. THey are driven by profit and do not hesitate to raise premiums or to cut people from coverage

I just PRAY that Obama doesn't touch our health benefits - those MS injections are expensive!

I would have confidence if the government could run anything well. But they can't. Repubs or Dems.

I have same issue with you about not being involved with blogging as much.

I also have concerns with health plan that might hurt us more than help us.

all I know is, the health plan as it stands seems sound in its one purpose...
making health care affordable, not more expensive.
If there is a cog in the wheel trying to make it more expensive, guess where that is coming from?
Yeah...the drug companies.
For crying out loud, I can hardly believe ANYBODY is even listening to them, still.
It must be obvious by now!
The only two groups who could afford such resistance are the drug companies and insurance companies (the later the greatest instigator)...

What I find more amazing, though, isn't the scrapple over what occurs up there in the sky of the government, but rather, the absolute disrespect some folks give to those who suffer MS.
And, unbelievably, it seems the closer the relative, the more disrespect given.
An example...
A mother I know has a son with MS.
I've told her countless times of two folks who also suffer that, and told her the addresses so that her son can get involved with them (you and Libby, on my sidebar)...my thought is getting him weaned off her, her thought appears to be keep him involved with her life.
What?
Is she never going to die?
Will she ALWAYS be there to take care of him?
Doesn't he deserve a modicum of respect, some semblance of self reliability?
THAT, in my opinion, is a more important concern than supporting drug companies and insurance corporations.

Course, I'm known to be opinionated, at times.

I'm sure the plan will hurt more than help. Anything our government touches turns in mega-billions of waste and inefficiency.

But I'm glad YOU are back :)
