Hi everyone
Was wondering if I could enlist your help with some reaching out. I am a contributor over on Health Central's Depression Connection and have been reading some of the shareposts over there. There are so many people who are in need of some emotional support. Lately I have been finding more and more people writing about wanting to end things or to hurt themselves.
I know a lot of you have been in that bad place where you feel so desperate to end the pain. Iknow I have been there and it does help to get support.
Just saw this post, for example, today of a woman who is thinking of ending her life.
And there are many posts on the site where people are saying similar things.
If any of you have the time to spare...could you volunteer to give some emotional support to the people who are writing there?
You never know when your words might just save a life.
Thank you so much.

I'll check it out.
I read the "sad girl" post. I was heartbroken and left her a loving message. Thanks for leading me there.
Yes, I will bookmark the site.
Hi Diane, I'm struggling right now to stay out of the pit. Between seasonal affective disorder, PMS, and fear of the future now that I'm not working, I've been feeling really down. I have not adjusted to being "retired" but don't have the energy to go back to work or even do small volunteer efforts. I am hanging in, but will pop over to the depression posts. Thanks for the reminder about that resource.
I can only imagine the pain that it takes to want to end it all. I have not been there but have felt the effects just the same.
Working at the prison I took the last phone calls from three staff members that took their own lives. What makes a person worry about being called off at work and then take their life?
This bothered me deeply for some time and the prison actually did a critical incident stress debriefing. Sitting down and talking about it helped. I internalized a lot of blame.
I'd be happy to offer what support I can. I've never been so depressed I wanted to end my life, so I am not sure I can relate. However, I can read/listen and offer support.
I will check it out!!!

I have new Bipolar blog! "Broken Pieces."
I'll give it some serious thought. I don't know whether I am the right person, other than I did want to take my life in the past but I don't any more.
I have only fleetingly been there once - I will go there read and see if I have any encouragement to give
I heard someone talking on the radio the other day and the one quote that stayed with me was "Suicide is a permanent solution to what is normally temporary problem"
