Oh sure...she is sweet when she is sleeping. But when she is awake...watch out! Just yesterday she knocked down bins containing all my son's markers and crayons and pencils. Then she tried to swim in the toilet. She swatted down toothbrushes and also tried to attack the toilet paper.
But last night...was the last kitty straw!
I was sleeping peacefully when I felt Mew Mew crawl under the covers. Then I awoke to feel her little piercing fangs in my behind! She friggin bit my butt like it was a ripe apple! CHOMP! I detached her from her target and threw her onto the floor. What in the world??? She meowed incredulously as if to say, "what's the problem?"
Seriously...have any of you ever had an ass biting cat?

When my old cat Bonnie was a kitten, she came up on my lap. Purring loudly, she went up under my chin, drew blood, and then started licking the blood. This happened within seconds. I threw the little vampire down. She never did it again, but that was a surprise. :)

I had a cat that had a nightmare one night while sleeping on my chest and clawed me up pretty good. It wasn't actually my cat even, but I was cat sitting for it.
My cat is a biter, but never my tush.

Might have been a little rodent running under there too and Mew Mew almost had it. No wonder she looked at you incredulously. She was trying to catch the real ass-biting culprit.
Haven't personally come across too many flesh biting cats, but my wife once told me about a young cat who appeared to want to cuddle, but it turned out to be a ploy... the kitty just wanted to tear out her earrings.
I am forced to live with the P.O.D. (Princess O' Darkness) cat...there is NOTHING she will not stoop to in her antics. Perhaps they are sisters?!?

i'm not necessarily remembering my tush being bitten ..
but i've lived through some pretty surprising kitty antics ..
She's adorable, but the diabolical ones always seem to be. hehehe I've never had one bite my butt. Ankles, lets, arms, fingers, hands, chin, yes. Butt no. I'm feeling lucky about that as I read this here.
I haven't had that problem per say, only a little playful scratching every now and then, but my cat does make it a disturbing habit of sitting about 3 inches from my face early in the morning begging for breakfast.
Nothing like starting your day by turning over to be greated by a cat begging for breakfast.

not had one like it, but my ex-bil had a crazy one, it would jump on your back, from wherever it had climbed up to, and proceed to bite/claw whatever was handiest: face, neck, shoulder...
Hi there, Diane: I have my Princess. She is MY baby. She's a big fat girl at this point and spoiled rotten. Has never bit me on the butt, though. Her purring is so loud that she wakes up Hubby in the middle of the night when she comes to bed and curls up with me. We do love our pets. Your kitty looks SO innocent. Such a pretty kitty, too. D
I've had a kitten crawl under the covers, down by my legs, and attack my ankles. Yikes, that's a surprise. Or plenty of "play bites" on various body parts. The bite and run technique can be funny, but is often pretty strong.
Was she cold? Seriously, a biting cat? I'm allergic and can't have cats. Sounds like she was having kitty PMS maybe?! We'll say so and give her the benefit of the doubt. LOL :)

I have a similar biter. She is a very loving, paws-on type of cat. There are times when she is cuddling and purring and then just starts to bite. She never stops purring, and she will bite any part of me she's touching. I've been bitten just about everywhere.
No big deal; no evil intent.

I once had a cat who became turned on by my armpits. Seriously. Whatever pheromones I was emitting gave this cat the urge to hump my arm. Very disconcerting. But, an ass biter? No.
Oh My God! Your lil Mew Mew reminds me of a Kitty my ex wife and I had. She was the exact same breed as mew mew. When I saw the Picture I thought, Katie! Which of course was her name. Her demeanor was identical! Curious, Mischevieous (SP?) and above all adorable. She also had a tendency for nibbling. How Cute! I am sure your Apple thinks differently! Great story! It brought back so many wonderful lil kitty memories!
I sleep with a Great Dane, named Heidi, she keeps my bed cat free.
Of course, she presents other problems. most doing with leaving me enough space to lie down.
But the fur on her face and neck is like silk, which makes sleeping with her is like having a "blankie" with a satin edge. (as in my youth).

I think you put your finger on the solution though (She's sweet when she's sleeping). So what you what to do is make sure she sleeps as much as possible. I'd suggest giving her beer :D
