The Candy is Coming!

I can feel my belly expanding already. The candy is coming. Halloween will soon be here. And of course you always hope the trick or treaters won't take all the candy because you want some...ummm...a lot of it!

My favorite are Reeses peanut butter cups but we can't even have them in the house because one of my sons has a peanut allergy. We usually give them all away. Boo hoo! You know what I like that probably none of you like? Candy corn? Who likes candy corn raise your hand!

Just watched It's a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. I keep hoping every year that he will come. What do you think the Great Pumpkin looks like?

I am feeling a tiny itty bitty bit...blue.

So tell me something cheery deary!

I look forward to Halloween too because my daughter likes to Trick-Or-Treating but doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. Lots of candy for me!

I love the Almond Joys...

And, did you know that on the real, authentic candy corn that the white tip of the corn is a special sugar?

Yup, true fact. (Look it up in the library of congress.)

I don't know what the Great Pumpkin looks like, but it is fun to think of that.

My favorites are Reeses cups and Kit Kats.

I love Halloween.

Well, you wouldn't get any candy corn if I was around. Oh, you said, cheery. You wouldn't get any peanut butter cups, either.
You could have the hard candy.
I think Charley Brown looks a lot like the Great Pumpkin would.
Brighten up, he's bound to come this year.

I'm sure that you are familiar with the pseudo-chocolate Indian Corn version of Candy Corn. But did you know that there are now Carmel Candy Corn and Apple Candy Corn. They're unbelievably good!!
Just warning.

How do you make a Kleenex dance?

Blow a little boogie in it.

Cheery enough?

Yummy candy corn, trumped only by the bags you can buy that have the candy corn AND those yummy pumpkins. (that taste like the candy corn only bigger!)

I love Halloween-We buy big bags for the kids to collect their candy in, then hit as many houses as possible. The kids are only excited by the candy for a couple of days, then forget about it. The rest goes to me, me, me!!

ok, I'll admit it. I have to go out and buy more candy for the trick-or-treaters. It just disappeared...honest.

Candy corn....I use to use those for decorating cakes and such at Halloween...not one of my favourite eating candies...but great for decorating....

As for Charlie Brown....yes I had that on in the background last evening while I was preparing dinner...gosh it brought back memories.....

We don't get trick or treaters where I live...but I can remember when the girls were little I couldn't buy enough candy for all the children who would come to our door....I am embarrassed to say but the odd time I had to take treats out of the girls bags to give to kids at the door....I hated to turn out the light and say we had no more....

I like the old fashion Halloween kisses, those brown chewy candies.
Haven't been able to find them anywhere this year

I miss the old time candy from Holloween, like candy corn.

(sigh)

The joys of being a diabetic.

Something cheery?

Hmmm.....the joys of seeing your 2 month old nephew's eyes lighting up when he starts to recognize your voice and mimics your smile.

You should come trick or treat at our house. My wife starts buying bags of candy corn a month beore Halloween, for her not the trick-or-treaters. And she already broke into the bags of candy I bought for this Friday ... there are plenty of Reese's peanut butter cups and she doesn't like them... all yours! :)

Every year since I've moved here, Halloween catches on a little bit more in New Zealand. This year, we may even get trick or treaters!

(and if not, we've got their candy. Mmmmm...)

We resisted the urge to have candy this year. There aren't many kids in my condo complex, and we keep the porchlight turned off so they don't even come down the steps.

We're anticipating a nice quiet evening of blog reading and perhaps a DVD later. I have to find some way to keep alert until 12:01am, when I begin this crazy NaNoWriMo quest.
