I know I know...I suck.
But...I have been kept busy with life stuff and the fact that it is spring. All of a sudden there is green everywhere! I am planting a garden and I have been keeping guard. I have seen one bunny rabbit and one mourning dove trying to get into things. Bad varmints! The deer will surely come next and then of course there are the bugs. How does one grow anything at all?
For my readers...now numbering in the single digits...I am returning to being a human capble of posting and commenting. I promise. I know...you have heard that before.
So what have you folks been up to? Do tell all!

Good to hear from ya.
Glad you are well. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather!
Gee, you're funny, too! You got it all. Okay, I know you're serious about the garden, but it reads funny. I can't see them bothering you, I mean they were nice to Snow White, and you're as nice as she was. Is.
As for advice, I got nothin'. What did they do before you put in a garden? Greedy, little creatures.
I am still here and watching for your latest postings.
Enjoy the weather and I am not going anywhere. Hugs Jim
Please don't think you have to write a lot, especially when the weather is beautiful and calling your name! I don't want to stay inside right now, either. We are actually experiencing Spring - we normally go straight from Winter to Summer so it's been wonderful.
get wire cages to keep them thar mangy varmints away!
come bug time, only sprays will do, along with 'companion planting'....
we had 4 deer behind our house this afternoon. we seem to be seeing them more in the daylight than we used to. to keep them away from your garden, try hanging a cheesecloth bag with a hunk of ivory soap in it. who knows why but it worked for us.
Spring and gardening is far more important than blogging! And if Stephen's soap idea doesn't pan out I've heard that planting marigolds around the outside fringe works well, too. Plus you get more colour!
yes.. spring and being outside and planting is more important than blogging. a few years ago when i planted a proper garden besides the usual tomatoes everything disappeared below...
underground varmints chewed it to death..
If you suck, I must "blow" then...I've also been a bit remiss in posting and commenting on my fav blogs. Yours being one of them!
There is nothing I find more peaceful than spending time in a garden...enjoy!

Must be lovely to have the spring time now. Glad you are well. Do take care and enjoy your spring time.
Holy Chit I feel your pain. The snow goes away and I live outdoors! Between my homestead, flat farm, hill farm, equipment repair, getting the acreage ready to plant, and life in general, I don't know if I should Wind my ass or scratch my watch!
How did I find the time before I retired?
Life is like that, eh? Watch out for the deer ... they carry ticks.
hello Merelyme,
Thanks for your comment, reading comments always gives me a boost.]
So you made me feel better right away.
Hope you are enjoying your garden.
Should be getting out into the sunshine any minute now.
Have fun.
love,
Herrad
So, dear, this is comment #15 so your readership isn't in single digits at all. I know I come back regularly.
Meme,
You know you are must to visit. I have been lacking in visiting because I have been in my blog house releasing some garbage off my mind.
I am happy I got out today because I was drifting in that dark tunnel. Visiting you all is snapping me out of it.
You know if you want to keep the doves happy and out of your garden go get a big plastic platter, like the bottom of a planter or something like that, low-sided and broad and fill it with black oil sunflower seeds. Put it on your porch or somewhere low, out of the rain and you're set. Doves are very brave (or stupid) and will sit right in front your window and happily eat and coo. *s*
I've been neglectful in my posting lately. Sometimes I just get into that funk and I can't get up the energy to think of something even remotely interesting towrite about.
